In the early TV age, in the 1950s, the European television scene offered a picture of a politically divided and technically fragmented post-war continent. People dealt with existential issues and there was not much fun. Nevertheless, or perhaps precisely because of that, the rays of hope shone through to the European television sky. – Na začiatku televízneho veku, začiatkom 50.rokov ponúkala Európska televízna scéna obraz politicky rozdeleného a technicky rozdrobeného povojnového kontinentu. Ľudia riešili existenčné otázky a zábavy nebolo veľa. Napriek tomu, alebo možno práve preto, tam vysvitli lúče nádeje a zažiarili až k európskemu televíznemu nebu.
